1) Children's Musical Christmas Program

This is my first year at Sunday School Superintendent, and I guess I'll be
in charge of the Christmas Program.  We had a musical a couple years ago,
and it was really uplifting.

I have went to a Christian Book Store close to me and have taken home
different Christmas Programs to look at but nothing is catching my eye.

We have between 12-20 children that might be in the Christmas Program.  I
am looking for simple Christmas songs on a CD the childrens can learn plus
a program telling the Christmas Story.  If anyone knows of a good web site
please let me know.  Also, If anyone has done a Musical Christmas Program
that was easy and good, please e-mail me.

3) Prospectus For Sunday School Teachers?

I have a very small Sunday School and have only one other Teacher that
assists me.  I would like to put in place some simple guidelines and/or
contract for the Teacher/Helpers to sign to guard the protection of the
children as well as the protection of the Teacher/Helper.  Similiar to
what Teachers currently have to adhere to whilst in their job.  Does
anyone have any ideas that could help.  Much blessings Elaine

TEN Commandments Crafts & Games

God's Top 10 - Understanding God's Love In The Ten Commandments:
The Ten Commandments contain many "Do Nots". They teach us God’s holy
standard and show us how far we fall short of his perfection. But they are
more than this; in these "Do Nots", I believe one can find a positive
message: a message of God’s love. (For Kindergarten to 5th grade)

5) Bible lessons in a bag

> Karyn Henley - called Bible Learning Series/Early Childhood,

I remember once getting clearance prices on this series because Standard
was discontinuing -- let me know if it is still available (there are also
lessons for teachers in the series which could be used as "Lessons in a
Bag" to train teachers maybe -- hmmmmm?)  Another recommendation, though
you'd have to tweak some of the info, is a book called Saving your
Sanity:A creative System for Teaching Preschoolers by Susan Lingo
published by Group in 1997 -- ISBN 0764420275.  It gives information for
setting up 4 boxes: The Creative Craft Box, The Great Games Box, The
Super Story and Song Box, and the Special Secrets Box.  "Saving your
Sanity ... centers around a simple four-part systme of resource boxes
that offers you a complete preschool program at your fingertips.  Each
section, in addition to listing the items for that box, is jampacked with
new ideas, fresh activities, clever games, creative crafts, and super
storytelling ideas."

--from SSTN: "Saving Your Sanity: A Creative System for Teaching
Preschoolers" is available in our Bookstore. Just type the title into the
search box to find it: http://www.christiancrafters.com/bookstore.html

6) Mission idea: Six weeks until Ramadan!

We just realized that there is barely enough time left to effectively
mobilize prayer for Ramadan (Ramazan), which runs from 6 November to 5
December this year. So this is a rush note to you all to urge you to get
the information out to your churches as quickly as possible.

Ramadan is a strategic time for the body of Christ to pray for Muslims
to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The great majority of the
1.3 billion Muslim people of the world at present have no chance,
humanly speaking, of ever even meeting someone who can tell them that
Jesus loves them. But that picture can be changed. And prayer is the
place we must start. It is more important now than ever to do all we can
to mobilize every Christian in our sphere of influence to participate in
this prayer campaign to break Satan's grip over the Muslim world.

We have posted a sample item for a church newsletter at the bottom of
the page at http://ramadan.everypeople.net. We hope that this can serve
as at least a useful starting point for you.

And we want to also urge each of you personally to get the prayer guides
(either through your church or directly from
http://www.ywam.org/prayer/muslim/price_m.html) and/or subscribe to the
daily email prayer guide that will be transmitted during Ramadan.
(Send a blank email to 30-days-on@pmbx.net.)

With Jesus' wonderful love,
Mike and Linda

7) World Communion Sunday

As part of our church's World Communion Sunday Service on October 6, 2002
we would like to include greetings from others all over the world
celebrating with us.  We invision vines hung throughout the Sanctuary with
the greetings hanging from them.  I have heard from others who have done
something similar that reading the greetings can be quite moving.

I would appreciate receiving greetings from anyone who would like to help
us out with this endeavor!  You can email them directly to me at
Bilbofam@aol.com (I don't want to overload SSTN) I will also send you a
greeting in response if you desire!

Thanks so much!

2nd time: Mano izquierda (move the left hand as well as the right one)
3rd time: Pie derecho (move the right foot, left hand, and right hand)
4th time: Pie izquierdo (move the left foot, right foot, left hand, and
right hand)
5th time: La cabeza (move the head, left foot, right foot, left hand, and
right hand)

10) Ladies Ice breaker

One idea we did several years ago was to buy several sets of matching
refrigerator magnets.  They were placed on a metal sheet such as a cookie
sheet, then each lady in the group went up a picked out a magnet. (Make
sure there are only enough sets to cover all the ladies, do not have
extras to choose from) After everyone has a magnet, the ladies are to find
the other lady in the group with the matching magnet.  They will become
prayer partners for the following 6 months or year, or whatever length of
time you choose.  Placing the magnets on the refrig.  will remind them to
pray for their lady friend.   Dianne Richards, Somerville, AL
