2) Visual Bible?

Has anyone used the Visual Bible Acts or Matthew?
There seems to be two versions of the Acts DVD - do you know what the
differences are? We would like to invest in these for our Sunday School
but so many movies end up not being worth using. Any other recomendations
on quality movies - we are doing Rotation Method Sunday School.
Thanks

3) Need used Curriculum

We are a small church & I would welcome your old curriculum to use in our
new youth group sessions (for K-12th graders).  I will take any curriculum
you would like to give away.

4) Valentine's ideas for Sunday School

Our Sunday School, The Flock, and our toddlers program, Little lambs, are
having a pajama day for Valentine's this year.  The theme is "God loves
you just the way you are!  So come Just As You Are in your jammies for PJ
Sunday!"  We are doing two worship songs about God's love for us all and
then doing 4 or 5 games with a related theme of His love from a children's
ministry games book.  We are then having a "You-Make-It Snack Attack" of
fruit chunks and kebab sticks and will talk about the Fruit of the Spirit
and how God's love is passed on through us.  We are all going to wear our
PJ's, leaders included!  Some of the church band have even thought of
wearing a PJ top over their usual clothes for fun.  Just thought I'd pass
it on - easy to prepare and fun to pull off with lots of God in the mix.

5) Need Used Curriculum

My pastor has asked me to work with the children teaching Sunday School.
I don't know where to begin.  The person who is currently doing it has her
own materials.  I do not want to use all of her materials, I would like to
have materials of my own.  If that used curriculum is still available, I
would love to have it.  Maybe this could be a good beginning for me.

Please let me know.
Go Bless,
Rhonda

--from SSTN: I would sit down with your pastor and discuss your concern. I
hope your pastor realizes the importance of children's ministry and he'll
find a way to provide resources for teaching the children of your church.
Please invite him to join our network at:

6) Need Used Curriculum

How would I find out more information.  We are a ministry outreach to a
real live "3rd world country" right down the street.  We conduct a reading
program on Saturday mornings and could really use some curriculum that
would support the ministry.  But, we have no budget for it!  We depend
mostly on donations.

Thanks very much...

7) Children & Worship...disturbing message

I read your posting, Kristin, and I agree that there are many ways to
reach children. I use many things in Children's Church to explain the
lesson and bring about an attitude of worship. I know this is going to
step on some toes, but what we don't have, and will never have, is what
you have called "gospel magic", and I urge you to reconsider bringing
magic into your church in any form.

>"Try it one time and see if they don't seem to remember it better than
someone just >teaching straight out of the Bible... "

This statement disturbs me greatly. Our Lord told us that "faith comes by
hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Let us not forget that His WORD
is what changes the heart, not the games, not the visuals, and certainly
NOT magic, but His Word. And children DO hear His Word and respond to the
calling of the Holy Spirit.  God is not a God of confusion, and I wonder
if many of the methods used to reach the children result in confusing the
message we are trying to impart. I'm sorry if I've offended you, as that
is not my intention.
In Christian Love, Nancy

8) Pastor Appreciation

we did a skit/sign language to the song Thank You by Ray Botlz for our
preacher and he was greatly touched,
we also spelled out the words PASTOR AND PUT WHAT THEY STOOD FOR:

P WAS FOR PREACHER AND
A WAS FOR ALWAYS PREACHING THE WORD
S WAS FOR SAVED BY GRACE,
T WAS FOR TEACHING THE BIBLE
O WAS ON FIRE FOR THE LORD,
R WAS FOR REPENTED OF HIS SINS.

YOU CAN MAKE UP YOUR OWN. hope this helps, we also had a girl in our
church that had written a song about the preachers past and present life
and she sang it.

10) Need Used Curriculum

Vicky,
Church planters like myself without the means to purchase new curriculum
would love to have your used items.  You might also try your local
association or denominational office.  I know of several who collect used
materials and pass them on to small and new churches.  I have also
purchased used curriculum off of E-bay if you need to recover some of the
cost.  One church's trash is another church's treasure.

Please never throw away used materials.  Your used materials can be used
by other churches to reach people with the gospel far beyond the walls of
your church.  I would be happy to help people find places in their areas
who would like to have their used curriculum or would gratefully take
anything that anyone would like to send to me.  I am working with three
plants now and have helped plant seven new churches in the last two years,
any of which would be grateful for the blessing.

My e-mail address is  pgcline@cs.com.

Thank you for your willingness to pass on the blessing.
Pam Cline
