Answers to questions 1 & 2:
1) "Is there one thing that you do each Sunday, or in a midweek class, that
you consider very important and successful?" At the end of our Sunday school class and our Wee. night Bible study, we always have prayer requests, praises, or celebrations. After these have been voiced, we ask for "unspokens". these are prayers that the youth have but don't feel comfortable about voicing out loud.

2) Is there anything that you do to recruit more children/youth/adults to
your class? The Anchors Bible study is a little more relaxed format and the youth sometimes read an inspiration (similar to Chicken Soup) and we try to find Bible passages that relate to the subject. This gives the youth a feeling of "ownership" of the Bible study.

Greet each child you see by name, whether or not your teaching them.
They feel welcomed & the parents are amazed. If I get a name wrong, I'll
stop & figure out with them how I'm going to remember their name (word
association). This shows the child that they are important to you.

No matter what lesson, craft or Bible game is planned, one thing my husband and I do each week is to begin with prayer first. Then all the boys open their Bibles to the Table of Contents and together the class reads, out loud, the names of the books of the Bible, Genesis - Revelation. By the time the kids leave our class (2 years) they have pretty well memorized the names of the books of the Bible, and whether or not Haggai, Proverbs, or Galatians (etc.) are New Testament or Old Testament books.

Does anyone have any game ideas for the "Armor of God" theme. We are doing a
party and would like as many ideas/crafts as possible .

Does anyone have suggestions for recruiting Sunday School teachers? We are a small church.

To encourage attendance if the children have missed 2 Sundays in a row, I send them a post card that we missed them. They like to know that they have been missed.

Thanks for the help. God bless. Jane

I am a Sunday School Superintendent and could use ideas to share with my
teachers. I am new in this position and don't really know what I am doing.
My Sunday School goes from 6 months to 95 years old.

This year we are using a Theme in our Sunday School called,
"Go Tell It On The Mountain 2000 For Jesus In 2000".
We have made posters and placed them in every classroom and on the
bulletin board in the church. We had the teachers talk about evangelism
in their classes and I have talked about evangelism at the closing of
Sunday School for two weeks. We challenged everyone attending Sunday
School to sign a commitment card stating they would witness to, pray
for, and invite at least one person on a regular basis to Sunday
School. We further challenged them to try to talk to at least one other
person each week. The response has been good.
We also made magnets for on the refrigerator with our logo "Go Tell It
On The Mountain 2000 For Jesus In 2000". This will be a reminder each
time they go to the refregerator.
Dave

(Look for the magnet in the showcase section at christiancrafters.com. It will be posted soon! Thanks for sharing! :o))

I am currently teaching 1-5th grade boys and girls and we are looking to
strong bible based teaching. Also, can you help with ideas for our
non-readers?
Blessings from our little farm,
Jenny

Bible verse of the day from christiancrafters.com

"He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me."
Mark 9:36-37
