He's Risen Egg Holders

Use a child-friendly Bible and the twelve He's Risen Egg Holders to tell
the Easter story. Each egg picture is numbered to correspond with its
explanation. Let your class color and cut their own set to take home. Get
the free "Palm Branches" pattern with explanations at:

http://www.christiancrafters.com/craft_eggholders.html

1) Prodigal Son Game

I just did a lesson on the Prodigal Son.  I told the lesson with
flannelgraphs then because the son had to get a job feeding pigs, we
played
a game called feed the pig.  I just drew a pig face on a small box and
they
each took turns trying to throw 3 nerf balls into the box.  They really
liked this game.  Hope that helps.

2) Balloon Animals

There are lots of websites on the Internet that teach you how to make
balloon animals. You can visit just about any search engine and type in
"balloon animals" and click search, and you will receive tons of results.
MBD2, Balloon HQ, and KPBS Kids come to mind immediately.

There are also a couple of books that have pretty easy to understand
instructions:
Balloon Animals ISBN 0809245930
More Balloon Animals ISBN 0071437436
Balloon Sculpting A Fun And Easy Guide to Making Balloon Animals, Toys,
and Games ISBN 0941599256
Dewey's New Balloon Animals ISBN 188021511X
and Dewey's Extra Easy Balloons ISBN  1880215152

Hope this helps!
Love in Christ,
Sarah in California

box of our bookstore at:

3) Used curriculum

Those looking for curriculum might want to consider checking out the
web site, www.rotation.com
This web site is compiled by lesson donations from church educators
from all over the USA.
I started in September planning the lessons in our rotation based
Sunday school.  This web site has been a life saver!
Even if you are not teaching in rotation the lessons could still be
used.
Hope this helps,
Marsha Boatwright

* Pentecost Rusher *

Children will be reminded of the rushing wind and tongues of fire when the
Holy Spirit descended on believers at Pentecost! Your kids will have fun
making, playing and listening to the Pentecost Rusher. An Easy Make & Take
Project for Pentecost and Holy Spirit lessons.

Find it in the Curriculum section at:

4) Homecoming?

My Friends,

I have pastured a moderate size United Methodist
community/country church for several years.  On each anniversary, which
this year will be 155 years, the congregation does something special.
They invite all members, old and new, far and close to a special worship
service and an afternoon luncheon including special musicians.  We have
tried to have past pastors speak for the occasion.  The problem is, this
year I’ll be moving far away and there are no other past pastors left.

Would you please share with me what you have done special at
your homecomings?

Rev. Jeff Clemens

6) Used Curriculum Available

Please give your email or address and what you are looking for.  Our
church has been blessed financially but we are limited on space.  I'd love
to pass things along.  Also, if you have a specific, mailable need, I'd
love to have our kids do a service project that benefits you.  We have
packed lunches and made up coloring books with crayons.  I'm always
looking for ideas to have our kids be God's loving arms meeting needs of
others.

7) Used VBS Materials?

I would like to know if any churches out there, have any leftover
Bible School materials from last yeas Vacation Bible School.  We got help
last year and it was really appreciated.  I live in Eastern Ky and we
averaged about 30 kids a day that is good for are little community.  We
can't seem to get a Sunday School started, but they seem to come out for
Bible School.  I am try to get things rounded up for this year, if any one
can help we would appreciate it . My e-mail is  Rowland890@hotmail.com

Thank you
Sharon Rowland

9) Wall Mural?

We are looking to paint the Sunday school walls to make the Sunday school
room look interesting and inspiring.  I was thinking of cartoon like
pictures that would show bible stories/characters.  Has anyone seen
anything that might be useful?
It needs to be simple enough, but professional looking.

Cheers
Wendy

--from SSTN: hi Wendy. Check our archives and links page for "Painter of
Fun", "Murals": http://www.ChristianCrafters.Com .
Most murals can be painted onto a wall by projecting a smaller image onto
the wall with an overhead projector.

10) Using Used Curriculum

I have noticed that every time some one offers to give away curriculum,
there are lots of responses. I wanted to weigh in on this issue.  Many
people think they are saving money by not buying curriculum. You can buy
curriculum for a lot less than 15 cents per page.  Some of it is
expensive, but there is a lot of good stuff out there that can be
purchased inexpensively.

As CM director at my church, I insist on curriculum. If we had to we would
do a fund raiser to pay for it.  There are several reasons: (1) the
children get a structured through the Bible program, (2) it serves as a
launching pad for creative teachers, and helps those who are not as
creative or will not spend the time required to write lessons, and (3) I
know (and can show a parent or church official) what is being taught each
week.

Blessings

12) Child of the King?

I'm looking for a lesson to help teach we are God's Children.
I would like to use the title
" I'm A Child Of The King"
any help would be great, songs ,lesson ,puppets, or craft.
Thanks and God Bless You
