1) Have you heard of Jesus-ween?

I'm wondering if anyone has heard of Jesus-ween? I read an article today about it, but it didn't give much detail as to what it is about, other than a Halloween alternative for Christians.

What is your church doing, if anything, to celebrate Fall, Halloween, All Saints, etc. Do you use it as an outreach? If so what do you do?

2) The Scariest Words in the Bible

Class time activity: Ask children to think of scary words or things that scare them. When you say go, have them shout them out loud.

"Oh my those are scary words, but there are much scarier words in the Bible than those, and Jesus said them! Let me read them to you."

Read Matthew 7:21-23 from a child-friendly Bible.

3) Continuing SSTN? and prayers for health

This January 2012 will be SSTN's 12th birthday. It has been such a blessing in my life and I hope in yours too. However, for the past several months, very few subscribers have submitted questions or answers to postings. For those of you who have participated since its inception in 2000, we were among the first to offer an interactive newsletter. But with Facebook and so many other social mediums available today, it leads me to believe that SSTN is not as useful as it once had been, which makes me want to reconsider putting SSTN solely onto Facebook. When I brought this up several months ago, the majority of your replies were against it. However, SSTN was never intended to be a one-way conversation. And even though our subscriber rate continues to increase, participation by its members is in decline.  As I've said from the beginning, your participation makes SSTN a success. So, I ask for your prayers, not only for wisdom to know what to do concerning SSTN, but also for the website, SundaySchoolNetwork.com; because keeping it running in this economy has been a real challenge. Thank you to all who  purchase our curriculum resources and who faithfully and prayerfully contribute to this ministry. Please continue sharing our site with your pastors, coworkers, and friends!

I would also ask that you pray for my health. I have recently been diagnosed with a heart valve defect. The doctors have me going through a battery of tests and I should know more by the beginning of next month.

Blessings to you and the children you serve!
