Jar & Container Lids

Joyful Noise Castanets

Beverage Coasters..."Resting in Jesus"

Supplies
* Hard plastic lids from jars such as peanut butter or Mayonnaise

* Decorative glass stones that look like melted marbles.

Instructions
1. Wash and dry lids after removing the liner inside.
2. Prepare the plaster when the students are present and ready to assemble the coasters (or use ready-mix).
3. Spoon plaster into the up-turned lids. Smooth flat.
4. Have students drop the stones into the plaster one at a time, with the flat side up.

Application (Matthew 11:28)
"Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."  A visual reminder that we may rest in Jesus' care, like our beverages rest on the coasters.

"Jesus is the Rock" - Paperweight

Use the same process as the "Beverage Coaster" craft above, but this time use small river rocks or pebbles. You can form a cross at the center (left photo) or use a heart cookie cutter rather than a lid to fill with plaster and rocks (right photo).

Application
(Matthew 7:24-27, Matthew 16:16-18, 1 Corinthians 10:4)
Jesus holds us firmly in place. We must build our lives on Jesus and his teachings.
If we trust in anyone or anything else, we will crumble and fall like a house that isn’t built on a strong foundation.
