2)
Teaching Communion to 4-10 year olds?

Hi ,
I will like any ideas on how to teach the importance of Communion to children between the ages of 4-10yrs.

Thanks

3) Craft Templates

Hi. I was making templates for the kids to paint and needed some plastic and saw my old x-rays. They worked great and easy to wash off and cut. Have a great week.

4) Gardening Lessons?

This summer's Sunday school lessons will revolve around a gardening theme. Any ideas would be appreciated. Here are some of my beginning thoughts that will have to be developed into lessons...starting in Genesis of course- talking about how God would come and walk in the garden with Adam and Eve, Planting a garden on our church property, parable of the sower (several lessons could come from this parable), different plants mentioned in the Bible, our lives as a fragrant offering to the Lord, taking a hike and planting wild flowers (we have a wooded walkway on our property)

5) Teachers
in common

Thanks so much for all the information that I have so far received from your site. I have realized it is no different with some of the issues about teachers relationship we have here in our church in Kenya some of the mails I have read have helped me understand I need to accommodate other teachers ideas. The skits and bible fun are very interesting and helping teaching become fun. God bless you as you continue enlightening us on this ministry.

6) Easter Lesson Idea

This lesson I did with the grade 3 children (aged 8,9yrs). You need a large rustic wooden cross – any Dad can nail one together quickly. A piece of paper per child – white. Red paint. Black paint.

Paint both hands of each child with red paint – press their hands onto the white paper thumbs together. Wash hands. Paint one thumb with black paint – this to be pressed into the palm print of their red hand prints (to depict nails inserted into Jesus hands)

Then whilst this is drying you can tell them the ‘Easter story’, lead the children with the story to the place where you discuss forgiveness.

At this place in the lesson, ask the children to find a quiet, safe place in the room where they can take their hand prints and a pen. Before they start writing, lead them with a prayer about forgiveness of others – then prompt the children to write down the person that they are asking God to forgive, and or the incident that needs to be given to Jesus. As they complete writing, tell the children to fold their papers (anyhow will do) and to come and prayerfully place the papers onto the cross, so that Jesus can forgive those who they have written down.

Once all the children have left the room and cannot see you, give the papers to trusted prayers and ask them to pray into the situations, peoples lives that are on the papers.

Awesome lesson.
