1) Butterflies, bread, & lilies?

Would you please send the info on this program.  It sounds like it would
be so good.  I would like to use it with my 4 & 5 year old class. Thank
you and God bless.   Kitty

W.W.J.S.? Gospel Catchers

There's something much worse than cooties...it's called sin!  Now kids can
make Gospel Catchers rather than Cootie Catchers! A fun and innovative way
for kids to learn to share their faith with their friends!  Includes 4
Gospel Catcher patterns to make: the Colors of Christ (Gospel Colors), the
Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the Promises of God. Follow this
link to learn more:

2) Portuguese translation?

Does anyone know if the Portugese translation on www.Freetranslation.com
is
the Brazil dialect?  Our junior highs would like to write letters to the
kids that we sponser in Brazil and were told they only speak the Brazilian
dialect. What a great website for resources!
Thanks!  Carla

--from SSTN: one of the other subscribers has since warned us about using
this site. In many cases apparently it doesn't translate correctly. It
seemed like a wonderful idea! ;o((( ysic, sarah.

3) Teacher recruitment skit

Melanie Mushaluk request for a teacher recruitment skit caused my mind to
buzz.  I f I could have more details, I would love to write her a skit.  I
thought that if she ended the skit with the song, Thank you for giving to
the Lord it would be a powerful message.
Cheryl Croushore

--from SSTN: when you get it written down...I'll gladly post it to the
website!

them animate? With Praise-Amations, children will be excited to see their

hands. 27 Reproducible patterns to make and do with your entire class!

4) Fundraising ideas

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but this is in regards to the
person that was looking for fundraising ideas....  Recently our TeamKIDs
had an All You Can Eat Pancake Supper fundraiser.  We are a very small
church, so we sold tickets in advance, because as you know sometimes
people can't come to the actual supper but they'll make a donation.  Well,
we have 12 kids and we made $300 after expenses!  You could do pancake
suppers, spaghetti suppers, etc.  We charged $5.00 per person.  We have
also done public hot dogs sales on the sidewalk at our local grocery store
(who donated most of the supplies).  We're Baptist and we like to eat so
we never go wrong with food!!!  Hope I've helped you some. -Michelle, NC

5)  Abraham and Isaac lessons

>I would like to know if you know any free website that can help me with
>the story of Abraham and Isaac.  I'm looking for some ideas...

We just did several weeks with Abraham and Isaac.  This site helped a lot!
I also found mssscrafts.com.  Look under old testament stories/Abraham or
Isaac.  It will list many different sites that have ideas or activity
pages.  It even breaks them down to crafts, coloring pages, songs, etc.
Good luck!

6) Missions Ideas/self denial

The youth group I am working with do Missionary projects
and we are doing "Pounds of Pennies". Each class has their
own jar and kids each week bring only pennies for the jars.
Also with bringing in the pennies, we are in correspondence
with the missionary and the kids love hearing from him. It
makes more real for the kids.

7) Circus VBS Info?

After looking in the Archive list for information on a Circus themed VBS,
I am still looking for fresh ideas.   Someone posted a request in Volume
#1 55 for help in crafts for their VBS.  I would be very interested in how
their VBS went and any ideas she could share.  Our church is thinking of
using the Circus theme in our VBS scheduled for sometime in June 2002.
Any help would be appreciated.

In His Service,
Trisha

aided me in locating this former material, I am truly amazed and humbled

9) Fund-raising ideas

Compile a recipe books with favourite tried & tested
recipes.  Get the entire church to contribute, as well as
all the children & their parents.  The children do the art
work.  Approach companies to donate reams of photostat
paper.  A A5 size works well, as it is 'user-friendly.'
We recenly made one for school, and raised a fair amount.
Not a quick turn-over, as it needs planning and
co-ordination.  But, really rewarding.  Another idea is to
have a personalised calendar.  Approach a photographer to
take a picture of each child.  Print a calendar for next
year, with the picture on each child on their calendar.
Take orders, and encourage family and friends to purchase
them. Good luck, and have lots of fun.

10) Easter songs with motions

I just returned from a retreat that included Walt and Marci Pelot as
vocalists.  They have a great song with hand motions:

Knock, knock, knock I hear someone knocking
Tug tug tug Jesus was tugging at me
Thump thump thump my heart was really thumping
When I heard Him knocking

11) Zacchaeus Craft Idea

Ellen, I did this one with my kid's club (age 4-12) recently.  I read the
story of Zaccheus, then we made "Unlovey scrubbies"  which I found in the
book, Joy Builders by Susan L Lingo.

Hope this helps,
Kim

12) Water into wine

Somewhere I have seen instructions for making something to illustrate
turning water into wineCheck out www.crazytieguy.com  He has a drawing
where you write water a special way and when you turn it upside down it
looks like wine.  The directions are on his website under "Our new book"
Look for "water becomes wine" in blue.  It's also included in his book
"Drawing Bible Stories with a Surprise for the Eyes"  by Nathan Dorrell.
I did these drawings with our VBS last year and the kids loved them. ISBN
# 0-9714571-0-7

--from SSTN: I hope to have this book available in the Bookstore real
soon! ysic, sarah
