1) Temptation of Jesus?

Hi!! I am blessed to say that I just subscribed to your newletter and look
forward to the blessings to come.

I am children's Pastor at Jackson Hole Christian Center and am looking
for some hands on type --and or visual type of lesson for the 3-5's on
the Temptation of Jesus.  Do you have a resource for such??

Thanks so very much and have a super blessed day!!!
Tammy

2) Spanish resources for Christian kids

I know that Southern Baptist produce their missions group literature
in Spanish and there is some Sunday School literature in Spanish; I'm
not sure for what ages.  I would check with your major denominational
suppliers, as well as local Christian bookstores.  The variety of
material available in Spanish is increasing.

3) Explaining the Trinity

The best explanation  I have seen is using the three forms of water. I
started with an piece of ice, melted it to make water and then boiled it
to create steam. one substance in three forms

4) Explaining the Trinity

Another way of explaining the Trinity is to use an egg. There is the
yolk, egg white and the shell. Symbolizing the Father, Son and the Holy
Spirit. They are each a separate entity but still one God (egg). Different
parts but all one. I hope this helps. Bonnie Wittenberg, Wi.

5) Palm and Easter Sunday sermons

Last year I use the Resurrection Eggs from Family Life for the
Easter children's sermon.  Each item in the egg relates to some
part of Holy week.  The last egg is empty to represent the empty
tomb.  I had 12 children open the eggs and then explained what
the item represented.  To close the sermon I gave each child an
empty plastic egg to help them remember that the tomb was empty.

A Palm Sunday idea.  Recruit a teen or man to play Jesus.  Have your
Sunday School classes make "spirit items"  - posters that say Yea Jesus!
Jesus is #1, etc, megaphones, pompoms and enact a modern day Palm Sunday
procession.  I did this with a Sunday School class one year and they had a
great time with it.  We even
wrote our own cheer.

6) Using Disney to illustrate ministry

>Was wondering if anyone had ever used Disney films/characters to
>illustrate ministry.

I have never used it but I came across a site you may like to check out
when I was doing some research for our Childrens midweek ministry. They
have some great ideas that I would like to try.The address is
www.sidewalksundayschool.org

I hope this helps!

7) Bible competition

I am a sunday school teacher, I work with ages 3-8. We have a couple of
boys who are competing this year in Bible competition.  We are having the
rest of the class learn what they are learning even though, they are not
competeing. They are learning the books of the Bible, 23 Psalm, Galation
5:22,23, John 3:16,17, Matthew 6; 9-13. My four year old daughter has
memorized all of it. what I did we would go over it and when she would
memorize something ,I would video it. I also made a video saying all of it
on tape, and gave it to all the kids.  Kids love to watch videos. It is
working! Now I have a tape of my 4 yr old saying all of it.  It's alot of
hard work, But what a blessing to hear them say it.  Deanna ( NC)

8) Sunday school names?

Thank you so much for your ministry, it is a big help.  I have been
searching and searching through the archives for an idea someone posted
for sunday school names...it had to do with "kids under construction".
The only one I remember is that the teen class was called "The Zone".  Can
you help me?

9) Sermons for Palm and Easter Sunday?

Dear all, A happy and peaceful New Year to everyone.
I hope someone can help me. I have been asked to find a Children's sermon
for both Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday - one which the children can either
run themselves or take part in! We have used plays/poems/raps in the past
so I am looking for something different/unusual. Can anyone out there help
me please? Many thanks Lynne

11) Songs to Memorize Bible Names

>I'm looking for a way to teach kids to memorize the books of the bible in

This isn't a song, but Jerry Lucas (also known as Dr. Memory) has a great
method for teaching the books of the Bible.  His book, BIBLE BASICS with 2
tapes, is available at his website. Kids will even be able to say the
books backwards!
