Someone To Listen A teenage girl and her family have recently relocated to a new town. The girl is beset with problems concerning a new school, personal relationships, and feelings of isolation. She seeks advice and counsel from others, but they all seem to be preoccupied with their own life situations and problems. A simple comment offered by an unexpected source paves the way for her to find Someone to Listen.

What Did They Do?  There were difficult times in the past for the wives of Biblical heroes, but as with all human experiences, there were humorous moments too.

New Glasses For Brady - Helping children develop thankful hearts is the object of this skit. For two people or two puppets. 

The Servant - A teacher recruiting skit. The scene opens at Heaven's gate. The servant-teacher learns that her efforts were not in vain.

 General Christian Skits 

 

Ups and Downs Four women attending a convention in New York are trapped in an elevator when it stops between floors in a high rise hotel building. Their mood slowly turns from one of joking and wise cracks about the elevators and service to genuine concern for their safety. 

To Be Kind Or Not To Be Kind - Kindness is a Godly character trait which Christians should possess. This skit compares the differences of two kings' rule, one with kindness and the other with meanness. 

Bible ACT-ion Skits - Any story from the Bible can be acted out (pantomimed) by children while a narrator reads from Scripture. For example, Moses at the Burning Bush: one child would pretend to be Moses and four children could pretend to be the burning bush. To "act out" the bush, children would kneel on the ground with their hands raised in the air and move their arms and fingers to represent the flames. 

This Old Church is performed to help raise money for a major renovation or new building project for a church. A take off of the popular TV show, This Old House.

But her friend Minnie Moo (the cow) tells Gabby about a different way to prepare for a very special Someone. Gabby does help in the skit by singing a stanza from various Christmas Carols.

GABBY'S BURIED TREASURE Gabby, the pink flamingo becomes Capt'n Gabby in search of buried treasure.

GABBY'S SUMMER VACATION Gabby, the pink flamingo, travels the world on her summer vacation but seems to have forgotten something very important.

GABBY SAVES THE SWAMP Gabby, the pink flamingo, recounts the war story of when the buzzards tried to take over Pickadilly Swampground, and how God gave her something powerful to use in the face of battle.

 

JESUS AS A BOY Gabby, the flamingo puppet, is most interested in what Jesus was like as a boy. Gabby wonders what Jesus' mother thought he would grow up to be. This skit can be performed anytime of year, shortly after Christmas, or even perhaps on Mother's Day.

GABBY'S EASTER MATH LESSON - Gabby uses "math" to explain the Easter message.

GOD'S SHIPPING & RECEIVING DEPT. A puppet skit with a simple explanation on baptism. Starring, Gabby, a pink flamingo used within the puppet ministry of Grace Lutheran Church, in St. Charles Illinois. 









  FALL SKITS  

DRY BONES - ‘Tis the season for tacky Halloween decorations to be replaced by tacky Christmas decorations.

A HARVEST CAROL- 
Inspired by "A Christmas Carol", the main character wants to celebrate Halloween, but learns that to do so may be dangerous.

SQUANTO'S THANKSGIVING -
Thanksgiving began long before the Pilgrims and Indians sat down to dinner at Plymouth Colony. A One Act Children's Play set in the Fall of 1615 tells the story.

 



 
Christmas Skits  


The Perfect Gift This skit was designed to require minimal prep and rehearsal! Uses eleven or more people, and can include audience if not enough kids. It teaches a lesson about the busy-ness of the gifting season. The perfect gift is, of course, the Savior, and the nativity is the basis of the skit.

Bethlehem Drive a fun and effective way to witness to your community. Stations are set up to tell important parts of the Christmas story. Visitors drive past each station, finally arriving at the manger scene. Little to no memorization required. For older youth and adults.

The Christmas Tree Narrative - Easy setup to adapt to your Children's Ministry. It does not necessarily need a rehearsal. 

No Room In The Inn - A comical skit which takes place at the Reservation Desk of the Bethlehem Inn & Spa.

Mrs. Magi  The Magi's three wives are "doing" lunch after sending their husbands off on an expedition to Jerusalem.

Grandpa Remembers
Mary Goemaat, Children's Director at Faith Church in Michigan wrote in to say, "A few years ago our church created an original Christmas production, a brainstorm of the associate pastor and myself that we pulled together out of necessity. We include many different programs and ages of kids and put it all together in "Grandpa Remembers". 

A Christmas Play
Faith Scott, a dedicated Sunday School teacher, and contributor to the Sunday School Teacher's Network, wrote this Christmas play. She initially used it with a small group of kids. However, you can adapt it to a larger group of children by adding more angels and/or interjecting Christmas Carols to be sung by your children's choir.

Bill Game, the lead character, and his family, are enamored with the things of this world (the path that leads to destruction). With the help of a music director, Miss O'Malley, and a slightly eccentric Pastor Ernie, Bill learns that God needs to come first in his life.
