Lesson Focus: Build on the idea that our lives, at times, seem broken and useless. But
"All things work together for good for those that love the Lord"
Share an example from your own life or someone close to you, or someone in the church
who the children may know, of a situation that was seemingly tragic, but that God used to
change lives for good (to bring salvation and/or grow the believer) and ultimately
to bring honor and glory to God.
As you tell a story of a broken life or heart . . .
Show bits of broken glass to represent the fragmented feelings or experiences.
Show a mirror looking at yourself or explain that the person in the story would look in
the mirror and felt they saw a broken and or useless person.
Show a light For added drama - turn out the lights and light a candle (or small flashlight) to show that just a small light shines very bright in the darkness. The purpose of light
is to illuminate - light up the area around us.
